02: A book you’ve read more than 3 Times

P.S. I Love You ~ Cecelia Ahern

I remember picking up this book from my school Parents-Teacher Meeting book stalls. I don’t know what made me do it, but i’m glad I did. P.S. I love you is probably one of the most loved chick lit in the 2000s.

The story is about Holly, a young Irish widow who tries to move on with her life after losing her husband Gerry to brain tumor. Cecelia has given a unique twist to the ‘moving on’ theme with the letters Gerry leaves behind for her, each ending with “P.S. I Love You”. There are moments in the book when you feel like shutting it and crying, other moments when you are laughing because of how silly Holly and her friends can be.

~~ Favourite Quotes~~

“Nobody’s life is filled with perfect little moments. And if it were, they wouldn’t be perfect little moments. They would just be normal. How would you ever know happiness if you never experience downs?”

“Finding someone you love and who loves you back is a wonderful, wonderful feeling. But finding a true soul mate is an even better feeling. A soul mate is someone who understands you like no other, loves you like no other, will be there for you forever, no matter what. They say that nothing lasts forever, but I am a firm believer in the fact that for some, love lives on even after we’re gone.”

“Sometimes there is only one thing left to say, P. S. I Love You….”

“We haven’t lost everything, if we haven’t lost our hope.”

“Some people go through life searching and never find their soul mates. They never do. You and I did, we just happened to have them for a shorter period of time than we hoped for. It’s sad, but it’s life.”
